The Accelerated Reader program is an important part of the media center program at Sara Harp Minter. Students select books at their own reading level, read the book, and then take a short computerized quiz on that book. The quiz tests the student’s comprehension of the book. Each AR book has a point value and students will accumulate points throughout the year.  Every grade level has established guidelines for incentives throughout the year to encourage reading. The short-term goal is to get the most points with the greatest percent of accuracy. The overall goal is to encourage students to read, become better readers and lifelong learners. click here for the AR quizzes
